To correct the saggy thumb bar problem

1) Using the long Phillips screwdriver remove the single screw to remove the thumb bar. Access will come from the front of the reel (See fig 21)


2) Using a pair of needle nose pliers gently pry the clutch plate (BNT1500) in an upward motion. Bend it slightly past a 90 degree angle to the frame (See fig 22)


3) Reinstall the thumb bar and torque screw. This will apply some preload to the thumb bar and prevent it from sagging again. This also allows the pinion gear to totally disengage and eliminate future noises during casting.
